    Staunton chess pieces have been the standard for tournament chess since 1849. These attractive pieces, handcrafted in Poland from hornbeam wood, are packaged in a beautiful wooden box. Each chessman is weighted with metal.
    The king is 3.9 inches (9.9 centimeters); the queen is 3.25 inches (8.3 centimeters); the pawn is 1.8 inches (4.6 centimeters).
    The case measures 8.27 x 3.03 x 5.51 inches (21 x 7.7 x 14 centimeters).
    The case is made from beech and birch; the felt bottom chessmen are made from hornbeam.
    This set of chess pieces is handcrafted in Poland.
